Alloy repair service

How can I tell if my alloys are diamond cut?
Diamond cut wheels are becoming increasingly popular nowadays. The diamond cut finished is achieved by using a diamond-tipped lathe tool (hence the name) to remove a thin layer from the face of the wheel. It is then lacquered to protect against corrosion. You will be able to see if your wheel is diamond cut if, on close inspection, you see very fine lines created by the cutting blade and the surface is a shiny, silver colour. Sometimes, a diamond cut finish may be used in combination with a painted colour surface.
How do you reproduce a diamond cut finish?
At Oxmanor Alloys we use a Tryax™ horizontal wheel lathe with diamond-tipped milling tool, one of only a handful in the UK. This state of the art precision tool enables us to achieve a finish which is as close as possible to the original factory finish of a diamond cut wheel. For more information, please read about our refurbishment process.
How many times can you re-cut a diamond cut wheel?
Depending on its design, a diamond cut wheel can usually be recut and lacquered several times. However, this is dependent on the extent of the damage. Each wheel is subject to thorough examination before work starts and a technician will provide expert advice and recommendations for any repair work to be carried out.
What colours can you match?
We can match wheels in nearly all commercially available colours. The easiest method is to match the wheel paint finish code. However, most people don’t know this. Therefore, a technician will inspect the wheel and look for a paint code. Failing that, we will use swatches to achieve the closest possible match to the wheel colour. In the unlikely event that we are unable to achieve a satisfactory match, we will inform you after the initial assessment.
Can you repair wheels with painted inners?

Can you repair my vehicle make or model?
